Bentley unveils luxurious new Continental GT
Bentley has revealed its third-generation Continental GT, ahead of the grand tourer's global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this month.
The new model retains a similar shape to its predecessor, which debuted in 2003, while also incorporating numerous styling influences from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept shown at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Bentley has developed its long-standing W12 engine to be the initial engine of choice for the new GT. It now produces 626bhp and 900Nm of torque, enabling the Continental GT to hit a top speed of 207mph, while having a 0-60mph time of just 3.6 seconds.
The luxury vehicle manufacturer has also fitted a new eight-speed, dual-clutch transmission into the GT. Power is sent to all four wheels via a new Active All-Wheel-Drive system too.
The interior is as luxurious as ever, with Bentley's traditional materials of wood and leather being well used throughout.
However, the stand-out feature in the interior is the new Bentley Rotating Display, which sees a wooden panel on the dash rotate to reveal a large 12.3-inch touchscreen display to control features such as satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay.
A third side of the revolving display houses three analogue dials, showing the outside temperature, a chronometer and a compass – which contrasts well to the modern touchscreen.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: "The new third-generation Continental GT is the pinnacle of our design and engineering achievements and marks the next step in Bentley's journey.
"The new Continental GT encapsulates our desire to innovate as well as celebrate our heritage and take the Bentley ownership experience to the next, unparalleled level."
