Spectator has narrow escape as rally car ploughs through barrier
This is the frightening moment a spectator has a narrow escape from a rally car.
The Mitsubishi Evo IX can be seen traveling at high speed through the dusty sand tracks of Mitta Mitta during the Australian Mitta Mountain Rally, when it suddenly begins to lose control, weaving around the road.
Despite the driver doing his best to regain control, the car suddenly veers left and ploughs through a barrier where a man just manages to get away from the wreck.
The car is wedged in the ground in front of a small pool of water. The cameraman runs to the aid of the occupants along with several other spectators. The driver, Warren Lee and co-driver David Lethlean, are both trapped inside the car because it's on its side.
Luckily the pair manage to clamber out of the driver side of the car, looking shocked about what has just happened. Nobody was injured in the accident.
