Incredible collection of rare Ferraris up for auction
This astonishing private collection of 13 rare and exotic Ferraris is being auctioned off next month.
To own a Ferrari is a dream for many, but this collector is parting with 13 of them.
One of the highlights is a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, which is set to make at least £10 million on its own. This is a highly sought after model with just 165 ever made.
If it does fetch this sum, it will become one of the top 50 most expensive cars ever sold at auction.
Another classic on offer is a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 which is expected to fetch more than £2.5 million.
A more modern classic on offer is a Rosso Red 1991 Ferrari F40. One of just 213 ever brought to the USA, it has covered just 2,800 miles. It is expected to fetch an eye-watering £1.5 million.
The collector, who has remained anonymous, built up the collection over a 50-year period, stemming from the 1961 250 GT SWB Berlinetta to a 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO that has covered just 481 miles. The latter is expected to fetch more than £787,000.
The rest of the cars on offer include a 1969 Dino, two 1984 512i BBs, a 2005 575 Superamerica, a 2009 16M Scuderia Spider, a 2004 360 Challenge Stradale, a 2009 F430 Scuderia, a 1976 308GTB 'Vetroresina,' and a 1989 328 GTS.
All the cars from this impressive Italian stable will be sold without reserve at Sotheby's auction in Monterey, California on August 18 and 19.
