The way to keep on the right side of your flight attendant? Don't order a Diet Coke.

But WHY, we hear you cry. It's all to do with altitude, apparently.

A Diet Coke takes a long time to pour because the air pressure makes it more fizzy.

Airline crews say they can serve an entire row in the time its takes to serve a Diet Coke.

A cabin crew member revealed flight attendants' worst enemy on a blog called These Gold Wings.

The Telegraph reports that one member wrote on the blog: "As you may know, the aircraft cabin is not pressurised to sea level, but rather to the equivalent of about seven or eight thousand feet.

"This means some passengers might feel a little light headed or that alcohol affects them almost twice as much as it would on the ground.

"It also means soft drinks foam up a lot more when poured out of a can. The worst culprit for this is Diet Coke."

According to Chronicle Live, the hostess added: "I literally have to sit and wait for the bubbles to fall before I can continue pouring.

"If all three passengers (in a row) ask for Diet Coke I'll often get them started, take another three drink orders, serve those, and then finish the Diet Cokes."

So there you have it, wine is a lot easier after all... Oh, go on then.
