Dad with life long stammer laughed at by petrol station cashiers
A man with a lifelong stammer claims he was laughed at by petrol cashiers at a Sainsbury's site who thought he was drunk.
Phil Bunning, 41, was buying fuel when his speech impediment caused him to stutter as he said his pump number.
He claims the two women behind the till mimicked him as he tried to get his words out before one said: "Why don't you have another beer?"
Speaking to ITV News, Sainsbury's said it was investigating the incident, adding that they were "treating the allegation very seriously" and they "want customers to be comfortable" on their sites.
