Audi TT-styled Volkswagen Beetle up for sale
A bizarre cross between an Audi TT and Volkswagen Beetle has come up for sale in America.
Located in Tucson, Arizona, this rather odd-looking creation took a normal Volkswagen Beetle and added Audi TT front lights and rear taillights.
It was so radical in fact that it has starred as the front page spread of VW Power magazine and had an entire article written about the car in 2001, which its creator called the BeeTTle.
The car-started life as a normal, un-fettled Volkswagen Beetle GLS. It was then stripped back to resemble a sort of kit car, custom designed in Canada for VW Company.
On the outside modifications were undertaken to change the front end and replace it with the grille and headlight lenses from an Audi TT, and at the rear the original round lights were removed in favour of those from the TT too.
The entire car was then painted in a Cyber Green metallic paint with matching accenting on the interior leather seats and door panels. The contrasting yellow and pink flowers are still intact.
Now, 16 years and 110,000 miles later, it is advertised on sales website Craiglist for $7,200 - around £5,553.
Despite its 'sporty' design, this car only has 114bhp being produced from its 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine.
The owner does note that the air conditioning is working well and all the vital fluids have recently been replaced, along with the brakes.
We'll leave it up to you to decide if the best part of £6,000 is a good amount for such a unique car.
