Updated

This may look like an alien crop circle but actually this Italian field is hosting what's known as 'land art'.

This 135m portrait of Vladimir Putin near Verona is the work of David Gambarin.

It's been created just days ahead of the G20 summit in Hamburg, which Putin will be attending.

The artist used a tractor and an 'innate sense of proportion' to create the giant images.

The artworks are removed after a few days so normal cultivation can resume.

Gambarin is used to drawing his signature in a field, he's created dozens of land-art portraits.

Previous works include Pop Francis, Jesus Christ and Donald Trump.
