How much you'll spend on your appearance in your life

Let's face it, we don't all wake up looking like superstars.

So, because we're just earthly humans, we spend a lot of money just to look presentable.

Groupon figured out how much men and women spend to look good.

You might want to sit down for this, because it's a lot.

On average, women will spend nearly $250,000 (£196k) on their appearance in their lifetime.

That comes out to $313 (£245) a month!

But before wagging your finger at your female friends, men aren't much better.

They spend over $175,000 (£137k) on looking good, which comes out to $244 (£190) a month.

I know, it sounds like a lot, and it is, but when you think about it, those moisturizers, gym memberships, shaving products, haircuts, and makeup add up.

Groupon found more than a quarter of all that money is going towards the face, which makes sense.

Interestingly, people spend more on makeup in their youthful twenties than later in life.

Then once you hit your thirties you'll spend more on anti-aging products than later in life.

With all this spending going on, remember, you can't put a price on beauty.
