Fellow passengers and airline staff reportedly rushed to help her and she regained consciousness after she was removed from the plane.

The star was on a plane leaving Los Angeles International Airport for New York when she fell ill.

In a statement to the Associated Press, Brandy's publicist Courtney Barnes said her rigorous schedule, including concerts and personal appearances, took a toll on her.

"Brandy has been released from the hospital and is now at home resting. She has been traveling extensively as part of an ongoing tour and several personal appearances. In recent days she has taken more than 10 long haul flights including internationally," the statement read.

Barnes continued: "The stress of all of the traveling and working so incessantly has exhausted her. She will be relaxing for the next few days."

Brandy was scheduled to appear at the Ultimate Women's Expo in Atlanta with her mother this weekend.
