Police arrest axe-wielding man in Gran Canaria

A man carrying an axe through the popular tourist town of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been arrested by police.

Footage released by Spanish police shows the man gesturing at officers who had their weapons trained on him.

The man had allegedly attacked another man inside a vehicle, according to Europa News Agency.

Europa reports that the man was taken for a mental check-up and would be receiving psychiatric attention.
