Michael Schumacher has been paid 50,000 euros by German magazine Bunte after the publication claimed the Formula One star could walk again following a ski accident in 2013.

According to Yahoo! Sport, two years after the racing champion suffered serious head injuries while skiing in the French Alps resort of Meribel, Bunte ran the headline: "It's more than a Christmas miracle -- Michael Schumacher can walk again".

Schumacher's family filed a lawsuit arguing the right to his privacy and on Friday a Hamburg court ordered the magazine to pay compensation plus 65 per cent of his legal costs.

The Daily Mirror reports that presiding judge Simone Kafer said: "The board assumes that this statement is untrue."

Earlier this year, Michael Schumacher's former manager and friend Willi Weber said he believed the Formula One racer's family were "not telling the whole truth" about his condition following a ski accident in the French Alps in 2013.

He was placed into a medically-induced coma after the crash, which saw him bang his head on a rock but there has been little about his condition since he came out of the coma since months later.

Speaking to German magazine Bunte, Weber said: "For some time now, I've been saying that the Schumacher family is not telling the whole truth.

"It's time to pour pure wine for his millions of fans. But I'm biting on granite because for a long time my advice is no longer heard.
