Two people die after car loses control and plunges into river

Two people have died after their car lost control and plunged into a river, police said.

The Renault Clio was being driven along Feeder Road in Bristol at about 11pm on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Sadly, the female driver and male passenger both died as a result.

"Our thoughts remain with their family and friends.

"Specialist police drivers are continuing their investigations in the water this morning."
