World's 'street food capital' bans street food

This city is considered to have the best street food in the world. But apparently not for much longer.

Authorities in Bangkok, Thailand are clearing the streets' of the city's world-famous street food.

The Guardianreports that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has ordered all street food vendors to shut down by the end of the year in a move to prioritise "order and hygiene."

In Bangkok, street food has long been a critical part of the city.

According to the Telegraph, more than 20,000 vendors work throughout the city's 50 districts.

Just this month, CNN's annual ranking named Bangkok the city with the best street food for the second year running.
