Passengers kicked off EasyJet flight over Gibraltar row

Two passengers were removed from an EasyJet flight at Gatwick after a "really heated" argument between the Spaniard and Gibraltarian over the future of Gibraltar after Brexit.

The flight, from Gibraltar to London on Wednesday afternoon, was met by police officers at Gatwick Airport who escorted the pair away.

A witness told The Sun: "It was a really heated argument and was over the current situation in Gibraltar.

"The cabin crew were keeping them apart and trying to stop from getting at each other."

They added that a woman was heard shouting, "you're insulting us, even though I'm Spanish born, I'm from Gibraltar, you've been provoking us all afternoon".

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Officers boarded when the plane landed at Gatwick at 1.30pm. Two people were taken from the flight and given words of advice about their behaviour."

An EasyJet spokesman told the Daily Telegraph: "The flight was met by police on arrival due to two passengers behaving disruptively.

"EasyJet's cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure the safety of the flight."
