Norway named happiest country in the world

Norway has been revealed as the happiest country in the world.

The Scandinavian country has jumped from fourth place in the 2016 United Nations rankings to first place this year.

The new report by the United Nations has Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland and Finland in the top five.

The United States fell one spot from last year to 14th.

Experts say the US fell because of inequality, corruption and influence from the Trump administration.

San Jose del Cabo is the more relaxed and laid back counterpart to nearby party capital Cabo San Lucas. Admire the beautiful 18th century Spanish colonial architecture and take in the underwater sights with a spot of scuba diving.

Found on Maui's south west coast, Kihei is home to six miles of beaches and plenty of snorkeling, swimming and surfing. Nature lovers are also in for a treat with the National Wildlife Conservation District acting as home to endangered Hawaiian stilts and coots among others.

Baku is Azerbaijan’s capital and has become home to a host of stunning and spectacular buildings in recent years that blend in with the ancient architecture. Baku is also a UNESCO listed 'Old City'.

El Nido is a beachside town that offers clean white sand beaches and coral reefs. El Nido is also known as the 'gateway' to the Bacuit Archipelago, a group of limestone islands off the coast of the Philippines.

Eilat is popular with Israeli locals and the bay is a popular attraction with plenty of beautiful beaches and a host of watersports on offer for outdoor enthusiasts.

With a stunning beach, stylish boutiques and a host of bars you won't be short of things to do in Las Palmas. The city is also home to a wide variety of cultures including influences from both the Mediterranean and north Africa.

Found in the valley of the Mtkvari river, Tbilisi has not only an incredibly dramatic setting but also a rich cultural scene. The picturesque historic architecture has welcomed modern updates with huge changes made in the last decade alone.

Jodhpur is probably best known for the electric blue colour of its buildings. Jodphur sits in the middle of a staggering 10km long, 16th century wall that encloses the city. The blue colour was traditionally used for the homes of Brahmin but that's not the case any longer as others joined in.
