Video shows moment elderly man is rescued from flooded SUV

Amazing video footage from Arizona shows the moment an elderly man had to be rescued from his flooded vehicle after becoming stuck in a river.

According to local media, the white SUV became stuck in the fast-flowing Hassayampa River in Tonopah, just outside Phoenix, and a team of five rescuers had to pull the man from the vehicle.
Quite how the car got into that situation is unknown, but the footage shows officials from the Buckeye Valley Rescue Team dragging him through the open passenger window, before giving him a life jacket and helping him to safety.

Once he had reached dry land, the man was taken to hospital for a check-up.

Buckeye Valley Fire tweeted that the man was in "good spirits".

The incident occurred in the midst of a storm that has swept across Arizona, bringing heavy rain and flooding.
