Ten men restrain drunken passenger on British Airways flight

A group of ten travellers helped restrain a drunken passenger on a British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Bangkok after the man became "very aggressive".

The Russian flyer had reportedly been drinking a litre of duty-free whisky and free in-flight drinks during the eleven-hour flight.

Mobile phone footage sent to The Sun showed eight men and two women holding down the unruly passenger.

Passenger Simon Johnston, 47, told the newspaper he was "out of control".

He said: "I was standing near his seat waiting for the lavatory when he came behind me and he hit me in the back and started pushing me.

"He was a big lad, very drunk, and very aggressive. It was pretty scary. I got him down into his seat but he was still causing a problem."

The man was detained by police upon arrival at Bangkok Airport.

A BA spokesman told The Sun: "This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated, and the appropriate action will always be taken."

In 2013, a drunken passenger on a flight to New York was duct-taped to his seat by fellow passengers after they became fed up with his boozy behaviour.

Speaking to the New York Post, passenger Andy Ellwood said the man, who was on a trip from Iceland, "drank all of his duty-free liquor on the flight," tried to "choke the woman next to him" and was "screaming the plane was going to crash".

Ellwood snapped the man after he had been gagged and bound to his seat by fellow passengers before posting it on his blog.
