Dramatic footage has emerged from Chile of two tourists having a very close call with a massive avalanche in Torres del Paine national park in Patagonia.

The video, captured by one of the tourists, shows the avalanche charging through the valley, very nearly reaching the two men.

"There were two small avalanches so we stayed at the viewpoint taking pictures.

"Suddenly, we heard a noise so we turned around and saw a massive amount of snow coming to us. I was scared but I had to record it,'' the filmer later wrote online.

"We were safe in the end but I have to admit we were a bit irresponsible, as we did not think about the risks.

"In fact, when we wanted to go back, all the path was covered by snowed and so were our footprints and that made it really complicated to find our way back,'' he continued.
