Rare baby elephant runs with herd an hour after being born

A rare baby elephant born at the Chester Zoo is having no problems keeping up with the herd.

Just an hour after being born cameras captured the male calf running alongside the adult elephants with ease.

The footage also shows the baby's mother giving him a hard time right after he was born.

Mother elephants do this to try and stimulate the babies into standing up on their own feet.

This is the second Asian elephant to be born at Chester Zoo in a month, something zoo keepers are calling 'momentous'.

They also add that elephants are extremely social animals so it's likely that the two babies will get along just fine...
