When Ford announced it was building a limited run of its new GT supercar, thousands of people tried to get one.
In fact, exactly 6,506 people went through the application process, but just 500 lucky people were selected. As well as having the privilege of being allowed to buy a super expensive, super exclusive supercar, they'll also receive one-of-a-kind order kits to help them spec their cars.
Ford has just revealed details of the kit, which involves tiny models of owners' car with all the different options to piece their vehicles together.
The manufacturer says that each 'abstract piece' of the kit is made from the same material as used in the real car, including carbon-fibre and a latch identical to that found in the Ford GT race car.
Swatches of each interior theme are included and are made from leather and Alcantara, as well as eight exterior colour samples with removable, interchangeable stripes. There are even scaled-down replica wheels with different coloured brake callipers.
Henry Ford III, global marketing manager at Ford Performance, said: "The Ford GT ordering kit is a critical piece in the purchase process.
After a customer has been given an order number, they'll be sent a replica VIN plate to place on their kit.
