Sir Patrick Stewart named a 'Legend' by old friend Sir Ian McKellen at Empire Awards
Sir Patrick Stewart was named a Legend as the Empire Awards in London on Sunday night.
The former Star Trek actor was presented with the accolade by close pal Sir Ian McKellen for his contribution to film at a star-studded ceremony at the Roundhouse in Camden.
Handing the Empire Legend award to Sir Patrick, Sir Ian joked: "A legend award? Come on Patrick, it doesn't mean to say your career is over."
Meanwhile, the big winners at the annual awards - which are voted for by the public - were Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
Rogue One's leading lady Felicity Jones was named Best Actress, while the blockbuster also picked up Best Director for Gareth Edwards and Best Film.
Meanwhile, JK Rowling adaptation Fantastic Beasts clinched Best Costume Design, Best Make-Up and Hair Styling, Best Production Design and Best Actor for Eddie Redmayne.
