BMW unveils first plug-in hybrid 5 Series

German manufacturer BMW has announced the introduction of the 530e iPerformance saloon, which will be the first plug-in hybrid version of the 5 Series range.

Using technology found in the 'i' electric range, BMW's aim is to make the 5 Series more efficient and offer all-electric mobility to help reduce its environmental impact.
