TripAdvisor's best destinations on the rise for 2017

Mexico's San Jose Del Cabo has been revealed as the top destination in the world for 2017 in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice awards for 'Destinations on the Rise'.

The city is found on the tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and boasts beautiful beaches and stunning colonial architecture.

Award winners were determined by using TripAdvisor traveller ratings for accommodations, restaurants and attractions, and increase in booking interest, across destinations worldwide.

Mexico seems to have attracted plenty of attention in recent years and has grown in popularity significantly.

Last year Tulum, another one of the country's main cities, topped the list.

Topping the list for Europe this year is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain followed by Tbilisi in Georgia.
