Chunk of snow breaks off truck and smashes car windscreen

At this time of year people are always writing stories about how to make sure your car is prepared for winter roads.

Some of the suggestions include fully clearing ice from all windows and removing any build-up of snow from the roof before setting off.
The first of those might seem obvious, but it can be easy to ignore the latter as being overly nannying. However, this video filmed yesterday in New Brunswick, Canada, shows why it's important to properly clear your car.

In the video, a car is overtaking a snow-covered truck, when a large chunk breaks free and hits the windscreen. It shatters the glass, showering the driver's wife in the passenger seat with debris.

The motorist said that he then pulled to the side of the road, but the truck driver carried on without stopping to help.
