Human chain formed to rescue elderly man from river

A group of people in China have been captured on camera forming a human chain to save an elderly man who fell into a river.

The man was dragged out by his feet as his head remained submerged in the water until they could pull him out fully.

They then performed CPR on him until an ambulance arrived, potentially saving his life.

According to TIME the footage was first posted to YouTube having been filmed on Wednesday in Yunnan Province.
