LaFerrari hits the classifieds for £8.6m

The Ferrari LaFerrari is the pinnacle of the performance car market, offering 950bhp from its 6.3-litre V12 engine and electric motor.

Its competitors are few and far between. The McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder are direct rivals, but apart from that only Koenigsegg could legitimately argue it deserves to be mentioned in the same breath.
When it went on sale it was understandably pricey – a select few loyal Ferrari customers were given the chance to pay about £1 million for the chance to own one.

As further proof that the exotic car market is out of control, that actually looks like a bit of a bargain now. A red LaFerrari has been posted on German used car site with a staggering €10 million – about £8.6 million – asking price.

So what do you get for your money? The V12 engine is mounted in the middle of the chassis and is assisted by Ferrari's HY-KERS system, which offers extra power thanks to an electric motor. Combined, they give the LaFerrari impressive headline figures of 950bhp, a top speed of 227mph and a 0-60mph time of less than three seconds.

It's not just quick in a straight line, either. Clever aerodynamics and genius mechanical technology help it corner brilliantly, too – it's a full five seconds faster around Ferrari's test track than the legendary Enzo supercar.
