Lisa Snowdon says the time was right for I'm A Celebrity
Lisa Snowdon has revealed she previously turned down I'm A Celebrity - but felt this year was the right time.
The model and presenter - well known for once romancing George Clooney - is soon to turn 45 and said it feels like the right point in her life for her to tackle a stint in the jungle camp.
She said: "They've asked me to do I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! before. And I've always said no.
"But this year, I got excited. I am at the stage in my life where it's good to be challenged.
"I know it is a bit extreme to go into the jungle but I want to step outside my comfort zone."
Despite admitting she will miss her "creature comforts", Lisa said she is ready to face the downside of camp life head on.
She said: "The trials from previous years look hideous. But I am also curious to see what the food will be like. A kangaroo anus is all furry and gross but curiosity has got the better of me!
"Nothing is going to kill me and so you have to rise to the challenge."
Lisa said she isn't thinking about being crowned Queen of the Jungle but just wants to prove she can "face fears".
"You've got to jump in with your feet first and think, 'What is the worst that can happen? I am going to be really scared'. That is it. This is the right time for me."
