Michael Sheen shares his love of childhood story books with rock star puppy. Yes, really.

Celebs from around the world are lining up for a turn to chat to a rock star puppet puppy about their favourite children's books.

It's part of a brand new series of the Amazon kids show Bookaboo in which the drummer dog (Bookaboo) needs to be read a story or he can't play.

One of his guests will be Welsh actor and Twilight star Michael Sheen, who revealed that his favourite book as a kid was Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

In fact, he loved it so much that he has an adult-sized version of main character Max's beast costume, which he said he eventually plans to wear every day.

He joked: "I was quite nervous about meeting a rock star because I've heard that rock stars can be quite badly behaved. But actually Bookaboo was the most well behaved rock star I've ever come across in my life."

The book he reads with Bookaboo is called Sir Lillypad. He said: "I have a daughter and my daughter's name is Lilly so that was what made me excited about reading it.

"And it's a wonderful story about a princess who doesn't need saving. About a little frog who stands up for everyone against bullies, and it has a wonderful dragon in it.

"I loved doing the voice for the dragon, but he only says one line. So that was a shame."

The series combines puppetry, live action and CGI animation in a colourful bid to encourage nursery children and adults to read together.

Bookaboo's special guests include: Paula Abdul (American Idol), Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight), Molly Parker (House of Cards), Hannah Simone (New Girl), Emily Van Camp (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Selma Blair (Legally Blonde), Guillermo Diaz (Scandal), WWE Wrestler Adam Copeland, NASA Astronaut Commander Chris Hadfield, and NFL player Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The entire first season is available for Prime members to stream for free. Amazon customers who are not already Prime members can start a 30-day free trial by visiting: www.amazon.co.uk/prime.
