Elvis Presley smashes records with a 13th album at number one
Elvis Presley has broken the record for the most number one albums by a solo artist after reaching the top spot for the 13th time.
The Wonder Of You sold 63,500 copies when it was released last week, marking another chart-topping album for the king of rock and roll, overtaking Madonna's 12.
Created almost 40 years after his death, the album is a second collection of orchestral re-workings of some of his best-loved hits with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
And they sound awesome, by the way...
Elvis's former wife, Priscilla Presley, told OfficialCharts.com: "This achievement is something I know Elvis would have been so thankful for.
"I am incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and so grateful to the UK fans who have kept his legacy alive with all of their support.
"I hope they continue to listen and love his music as much as I do."
Elvis also claims the largest span between number one albums by the same artist, with 60 years between The Wonder Of You and his first, Elvis Presley Rock N' Roll, in 1956.
The 60-year stretch coincides with the Official Album Charts' own 60th anniversary this year.
Michael Buble's ninth studio album Nobody But Me came in at second place this week, followed by Lady Gaga's Joanne at number three.
Meanwhile, Little Mix's Shout Out To My Ex, from their latest album Glory Days, topped the singles chart for the second week in a row.
With four chart-toppers under their belt, the band has the most number one singles of any X Factor winner.
