Ore Oduba waltzes to top of Strictly leaderboard

Another Strictly Come Dancing contestant will waltz off the show tonight.

Ore Oduba topped the judges' leaderboard during Saturday's live show for a second week running, after scoring 36 points for his classic waltz.

At the bottom of the leaderboard for another week was politician Ed Balls, who stepped onto the dance floor fresh from his first spray tan on Friday.

He received 18 points for his American smooth with a hitch-hiking theme to (Is This The Way To) Amarillo and made the judges nervous by precariously lifting partner Katya Jones at the end of the performance.

Laura Whitmore was unable to dance her jive during the show following an ankle injury so will automatically go through to compete next week.

Singer Anastacia faced an extra challenge this week as she danced with replacement Gorka Marquez after her usual partner, Brendan Cole, was diagnosed with a chest infection.

It did nothing to hinder her performance as the judges awarded her quickstep 30 points, with Goodman telling her: "I don't want to upset Brendan, but that was your best dance."

The other celebrities hoping to make it through to the next round are Danny Mac, Judge Rinder, Daisy Lowe, Louise Redknapp, Greg Rutherford, Lesley Joseph and Claudia Fragapane, who rounded off the programme with a lively samba to Young Hearts Run Free on top of the judges' desk.

The results programme will air on BBC One at 7.15pm.
