Rare moonbow photographed over Yorkshire

A stunning lunar rainbow – aka a moonbow – has been captured over Yorkshire.

Photographer Ben Gwynne took the pictures on the moors above Skipton. Lunar rainbows happen when moonlight (as opposed to sunlight) is refracted by moisture in the atmosphere.

Ben went to take a photo of the supermoon that lit up over the skies of the UK on Sunday when he spotted this rare natural phenomenon.
