Puppies worth £16,300 stolen from pet shop

This is the moment six puppies were stolen from a Houston, Texas pet store.

The animals, who are just eight weeks old, are said to be worth more than $20,000 (£16,300) and were stolen from the Pet City on Friday 14 October.

Texas Police are searching for the suspects who were captured on CCTV driving up to the store in a white pick up truck before breaking in.

Among the puppies taken were four English bulldogs and two French bulldogs.

Sheri Stack, owner of the Pet City store, said: "It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen."

She added that they had made their way into the store by smashing the padlock with a sledgehammer.

CCTV footage shows the thieves opening lockers and quickly grabbing the puppies, with one even falling to the floor.

They then bundled the animals into a carry case and put it in the back of the truck before racing away.

According to ABC13 the English bulldogs are worth between $3,500 and $5,000 while the French bulldogs are worth approximately $3,500.
