Shoplifters are often good at evading detection by store workers and security cameras, but there's one potential witness few likely consider – Google Street View.

Not long ago, a man named Peter Darby was messing around with the feature and happened upon a series of images that showed a woman clutching onto a full bag while fleeing from a Middlesbrough, UK grocery store.

Running behind was a concerned citizen who appeared to be trying to catch her.

Darby reported his discovery to the proper authorities, and, though the theft happened in June, they were able to apprehend the suspect.

It was not her first offecse, and she was sentenced to a year-long punishment.

Earlier this week footage taken from a helicopter was released showing thieves escaping on a moped.

The pair who had stolen a mobile phone from the hands of a woman on the street were quickly apprehended by police, but not before they caused chaos in a nearby market.
