A plane descending into Birmingham International Airport got caught in the crosswind on Saturday 1 October and was forced to miss its landing just moments before touch down.

The plane appears to be just metres from the runway when it suddenly begins to climb again.

Towards the end of the footage the plane is seen eventually landing safely at Birmingham despite the impact of the strong winds still being visible as it sways towards the ground.

The video was posted on YouTube by Flugsnug along with the following caption: "When conditions are less than ideal, the particular distribution of buildings and earth mounds etc around BHX usually claims the odd victim, as the unpredictable wind currents and eddies suddenly catch the unfortunate plane."

The video has amassed 124,645 views since it was posted on Saturday.
