Eurostar delays after train hits wild boar


Eurostar passengers were left experiencing delays after a wild boar was hit on the track in France.

The 14.22 service from London to Paris hit the animal near Huate Picardie, between Calais and Paris, reports the Telegraph.

A number of passengers shared the news on Twitter.




A Eurostar spokesman said temporary speed restrictions were put in place, leading to delays.

According to the BBC, the spokesman said: "The collision caused a few delays as the train was stopped to be checked.

"After any collision we need to make sure everything is safe.

"There are wild boars in that area, which can take it upon themselves to roam from their area onto the track."
