Footballer blasted after breaking traffic rules four times in online video
Liverpool footballer Dejan Lovren has been blasted by road safety campaigners after breaking road laws four times in an online video.
The Croatian defender was filmed by his club's television channel for a segment based on James Corden's 'Carpool Karaoke' series.
During the short video, he drives Serbian team-mates Marko Grujic, 20, and Lazar Markovic, 22, around Liverpool. The trio can be seen joking around before launching into a rendition of the club song 'You'll Never Walk Alone' by Gerry and the Pacemakers.
But road safety campaigners have failed to see the funny side of the video, saying that the driver and his passengers commit four potential motoring offences.
Lovren, 27, uses his mobile phone while driving and even takes both hands off the wheel, which could lead to charges of not being in proper control of a vehicle. Sat in the back of the car, Markovic is clearly not wearing a seatbelt.
Finally, Lovren is distracted throughout the video, which could lead to him being charged with driving without due care and attention.
Brake road safety charity spokesman Jack Kushner said: "It's disappointing to see somebody who is a role model driving in such an irresponsible manner."
