The maid had seen him go to his room in the evening with a girl, but became concerned when he did not leave his room the next day.

According to the Express, senior officer Pitak Neonsaeng said: "There was Viagra in the room and other medicine. We're not totally sure of the cause of death yet but we think it's a heart attack.

"He had taken the girl back to his room, taken Viagra and then died. We think that after he had finished his activities he went to bathroom and died.

"Something has caused him to suddenly fall ill."

According to the Daily Mail, he added: "We have spoken to staff at the guest house and he had been using prostitutes every day during his stay.

"There were no signs of assault or robbery so we're not looking for any suspects."

It is believed Michael, who weighed around 15 stone, may have had pre-existing health problems.

His body has been sent for examination and the British Embassy has been informed.

Pattaya, in Thailand's eastern gulf coast, is home to thousands of sex workers and massage parlours and is often known as 'sin city' or 'the devil's playground'.
