£34m Euromillions ticketholder comes forward

The British ticketholder who scooped the £34 million jackpot in Friday's EuroMillions has come forward.

The lucky winner of £34,037,587 is the eighth person from the UK to claim the top prize so far this year - and the fourth person this month.

Camelot said that subject to validation, the prize could be paid out when the banks open on Monday.

The ticket-holder can then decide whether or not to go public, and there will be no information on whether it is an individual or syndicate winner, or where the ticket was purchased, unless the ticketholder decides to make it known.

Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Camelot, said: "We're delighted the ticketholder has come forward to claim their prize. This year is proving very lucky for UK players.

"This life-changing jackpot is the eighth big win here on EuroMillions so far this year, just two weeks after three UK ticketholders shared a prize of £19.7 million.

"By buying a ticket for this or any other National Lottery game, every player is helping to raise money for Good Causes.

"On average, £36 million is raised every week for projects across the UK, both big and small, from repairing Scout huts to making Olympic and Paralympic champions."

At the start of September, three players from the UK shared a EuroMillions jackpot.

Last month a mother from south Wales, who decided to buy a ticket while recovering from a cancer operation, found herself the winner of £61.1 million.

The winning main EuroMillions numbers were 05, 08, 14, 22, 32. The lucky star numbers were 02 and 11.
