World's most depressed countries revealed
The US News and World Report recently released a ranking of the world's most depressed countries.
The findings were based on "the countries with the greatest burden of disease for mental and behavioural disorders, in terms of the most years of life lost due to disability or death, adjusted for population size".

Here are ten countries with the highest rates of depression.

9. Nigeria
8. Bangladesh
7. Pakistan
6. Russia
5. Brazil
4. Indonesia
3. USA

According to the organisation's website countries including India, China and the USA are the countries most affected by conditions such as anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
They also state that Asia has a very low concentration of psychiatrists in relation to population size.
Could this explain part of why India, China and Indonesia all feature in the top five?
On the other end of the scale, Europe boasts the highest level of psychiatrists.
