Police officer inspected hit-and-run car that killed his mother

A Manchester police officer inspected a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision only to discover that the victim was his own mother.

Officer Rob Smythe was sent to examine a Volkswagen Golf that had struck and killed a pedestrian on September 9.
