Thief steals $600 from bra of 93-year-old in wheelchair

Police arrested a man they say stole an envelope full of money from an elderly woman's bra.

The criminal act was captured on surveillance video at a clothing store in New York City.

It shows a man walking up alongside 93 year-old Maria Vasquez, who was in a wheelchair, pulling an envelope from her bra, and making off with it.

Maria Vasquez said she had just cashed her social security cheque and there was was $600 in the envelope.

The surveillance footage shows the man casually strolling up behind her wheelchair and quickly snatching the envelope from her front before making a hasty getaway.

The elderly woman says she believes the man saw her withdraw the large sum of money and then followed her from the bank.

Police released the video in the hope of identifying the suspect and luckily they made an arrest just two days after the incident occurred.
