Believe it or not, a Chinese theme park is planning to send its visitors into space.

'Future Valley' is a space themed amusement park planned for a 2017 launch.

The park is planning to offer balloon tours of the lower stratosphere.

The balloon will carry a passenger capsule far enough about earth that you can witness the curvature of the planet - this will be about five miles high.

The capsule will hover above the scenery for a couple of hours before heading back to the surface.

The park is currently still in developing phases and although the capsule won't technically reach 'space', it could be as close as you'll ever get to the stars!

According to the International Business Times, KuangChi Science will invest 10 million yuan (£1.12 milion) in the development of this new theme park.

The space capsule is reported to have a similar design to the rocket that took the first Chinese astronauts to space in 2003.

The company's president, Liu Ruopeng, told China Daily: "Our mission is to develop science and technology that create a future life ecology.

"We have chosen Hangzhou because it is a city that embraces innovation and tolerates failure, for the Valley. Moreover, the Qingshan Lake, where the Valley is going to be built, has a large water surface and cubical space for us to run the machine."
