Naked woman walks through Doncaster town centre

This is the moment a woman casually took a stroll through a town centre in broad daylight - completely naked.

The mysterious woman was photographed in the buff just yards away from two churches in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, by a stunned passer-by.

Sporting shoulder-length hair and what appeared to be a tattoo on her right arm, the woman appeared to be carefree and oblivious to her surrounding as she walked barefoot past parked cars.

The snapper then posted the picture on Facebook with the caption "Beautiful day for a stroll down chequer road".

The photo appears to have been taken near the Beechfield Garage - which is just a short stroll from Doncaster Police station, Doncaster Baptist Church and the town's Museum and Art Gallery.

One Facebook commenter wrote: "Only in Doncaster lol."

It is not clear exactly when the picture was taken but the lighting in the photo suggests it was during the day.

A man who tried to help cover up a woman walking completely naked in a town centre has described how she told him she had "love in her heart".

Garage worker Darren Rafferty said he approached the mystery blonde - who bared all during her stroll in Doncaster, South Yorks., - and offered her his top to try to help hide her modesty.

Mr Rafferty, who spotted the woman walking close to a church, Doncaster Museum and the town's police station, said he did a double take when he realised what he had just seen.

He said: "I went outside the garage and she was walking past, totally naked. I did a double take as it's not every day you see a naked woman out on the street.

"I told her, 'Cover yourself up or you are going to get done for this'.

"She seemed oblivious to the fact that she was in the middle of the street with nothing on but she looked happy and was happy with herself.

"She said, 'I've got love in my heart'."

Mr Rafferty said the woman had spoken in broken English, possibly with an Eastern European accent, and was eventually picked up by a police car just a few moments after he saw her.

Social media has speculated that the woman may have been "spiked" while others suggested she was simply an exhibitionist.

Mr Rafferty added: "I am not sure if she was on something or if she had some issues. She seemed OK and happy in herself and she was talking, although it was difficult to understand."

Another witness, Janice Wise said she was amazed no cars crashed.

She said: "We saw her walking towards the police station - it's a wonder no cars crashed.

"I thought she was going to the police station as some sort of protest."

The incident comes just a few months after a naked couple were filmed having sex in broad daylight Doncaster - just yards from students at Doncaster College.

The clip, filmed in May, showed a dark haired man and a blonde haired woman romping totally naked on a patch of grass - and were filmed by an amazed onlooker who captured the sordid scenes on his mobile phone from behind a fence.

Last September, South Yorkshire Police announced it was stepping up efforts to prosecute people committing acts of public indecency in Doncaster.

The warning came after figures revealed Doncaster police had received a total of 48 complaints of public indecency since 2010.
