Autonomous cars could give $100 billion boost to alcohol industry

The booze business could receive a $100 billion boost thanks to the rise of ride-sharing apps and the imminent introduction of driverless cars, a study suggests.

Research by Morgan Stanley states that as alternatives to driving become more prevalent, the average driver will be able to consume an average of one more alcoholic drink per week. This would result in a boost to the alcohol industry of $98 billion.
