Yahoo reports that the leopard tore around the village for the entire day on Tuesday.

It reportedly came from the fields and entered a house where it tried to drag away a three-year-old boy.

The Daily Mail reports that a man holding the child raised the alarm but the child was left with severe injuries from the attack.

In a neighbouring village, it attacked two women and was later filmed pouncing on a man.

The mob of angry villagers yelled at the animal and chased it with sticks.

Global News reports that by the time forest officials arrived, the big cat had been killed.

Last month, a sleeping girl was attacked and killed by a leopard after the animal dragged her away from the bed where she slept next to her parents in a village in India.

The 12-year-old girl's body was found in the backyard of the family home in Chheetar-ka-Badal, near Udaipur.

She was named as Ravina by local newspaper Udaipur Kurin following her death.

The leopard reportedly climbed up a terrace and grabbed the girl by her neck.

According to the Daily Mail, she was taken at 12am but her parents did not realise she was missing until 4am.

When they found her body, they discovered teeth marks.
