The job post reads: "We are looking for an inspirational individual who will be the face of hedgehog conservation in Ipswich. You will use your knowledge of nature conservation and hedgehog ecology to lead an ambitious project seeking to make Ipswich the most hedgehog-friendly town in the UK. Experience of ecological surveying, leading and developing community-based conservation activities and engaging effectively with a wide range of people is essential."

You'll need to inspire streets of people to act together to create habitat links and remove the barriers to hedgehog movement between gardens. The role also requires you to lead hands-on community activities, training events and drive a proactive media campaign to raise awareness of the needs of hedgehogs and the opportunity to turn around their fortunes in Ipswich.

If spending regular weekends and evenings working with adorable hedgehogs is up your street, you can apply to be Ipswich's new Hedgehog Officer here.
