Two Fort St. John men are charged under the B.C. Wildlife Act with harassing wildlife with the use of a boat, attempting to capture wildlife and hunting big game that was swimming.

The video of the incident, which allegedly occurred in Tuchodi Lake near Fort Nelson, went viral last year after it was posted by B.C. based group Wolftracker TV.

The names of the accused have not been released but they will make their first court appearance on 8 August.

According to Time the shocking video caused fury on social media as members of the public searched for the men responsible.

The video which was originally posted on YouTube, entitled 'Moose Rider', has had more than 2.1 million views since it was published in June 2015.
