Whoa! Leonardo DiCaprio almost played David Hasselhoff's son on Baywatch
Leonardo DiCaprio's career could have had a very different start - he came very close to playing David Hasselhoff's son in Baywatch!
The Revenant star was only 15 years old when he auditioned for the part of Mitch Buchannon's son Hobie in the lifeguard drama and he was the hot favourite for the role.
The original Baywatch produers Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz told The Hollywood Reporter: "We actually had DiCaprio ready to be cast. But David thought he was too old to play his son."
The part eventually went to Brandon Call for season 1 of the show and was then replaced by Celebrity Big Brother star Jeremy Jackson for the rest of the run.
The produers said: "David thought it would make him look older. He had a lot of concerns of that type."
The Hoff also apparently tried to veto Pamela Anderson's casting when she joined the show in the second season.
Michael told THR: "David said, "I don't want a girl that's been in Playboy." He said: "Children watch this show.""
Schwartz said: "She had these enormous breasts and David thought he would be upstaged by everyone looking at her breasts. Which is what happened."
The big screen version of Baywatch, starring Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson, will hit cinemas in May 2017.
