Fiat collaborates with luxury yacht builder Riva to produce special edition 500

Italian carmaker Fiat has joined forces with the luxury yacht manufacturer, Riva, to produce a limited edition 500 set to go on sale this August.

Named the Fiat 500 Riva, mechanically the car is based on its standard sibling – available in 1.2 69hp, TwinAir 85hp and TwinAir 105hp engine options – however features a host of high-quality additions, giving it a luxury appeal.
An exclusive 'Sera Blue' paint adorns the 500 Riva, which is wrapped in a double aquamarine belt. The mirror caps, meanwhile, are finished in chrome, as are the door handles and bonnet trim.

Special 16-inch, 20-spoke alloy wheels with a blue finish, while the option of a deep blue retracting or panoramic glass roof completes the attractive exterior of the Riva.

The cabin is equally as exclusive and nautically themed, with hand-painted mahogany with maple inlay work adorning the dash. The recognisable Riva logo, which also features on the boot lid, wheel arch and side moulding, sits subtly in front of the passenger seat and on the front pair of ivory leather-trimmed seats.

The doorsills and gear knob are carved from solid pieces of mahogany, while the floor and boot mats are specially created with ivory hems and contrasting "Sera Blue" stitching.

In keeping with its luxury provenance, the 500 Riva features the very best in both comfort and safety features. Automatic climate control, front fog lights, rear parking sensors, LED DRLs and a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster with aquamarine background and Riva logo feature alongside Fiat's latest seven-inch HD Uconnect live infotainment system. 3D satellite navigation is an optional extra on the model.

Safety is accounted for by seven airbags, ABS with electronic brake distribution, electronic stability control, anti slip regulation, hill holder and HBA hydraulic brake assistance.

Fiat and Riva have been inextricably linked since Italy's stylish and fun Dolce Vita years during which the original Fiat 500 was launched (in 1957) and Riva's revered Aquarama speedboat rose to prominence.

Sixty years later and the 500 Riva combines the very best of both iconic brands in one attractive package.
