The Good Hotel, which first launched in Amsterdam in 2015, plans to be a place where Londoners can meet, stay and relax, but above all, a project which will create a better future for long-term unemployed locals.

The social enterprise project promises to offer the unemployed custom-made hospitality training and the chance for a new future.

Good Hotel's accommodation will provide a luxurious stay for guests who dream of spending the night on the water, while contributing to the development and education of less advantaged communities.

The hotel will be located in Royal Victoria Dock and offer 148 guest rooms, a rooftop garden with a cafe and terrace, a living room offering food and drinks as well as ample working space, and meeting rooms.

Speaking to The Guardian, Jos de Groot, director of operations at the Good Hospitality Group, said the project aims to help people from different backgrounds, such as a young mother who has fallen off the career ladder, someone who lost their job in the recession or someone with a criminal record.

"They all need a second chance," he says.
